Unconscious Truths
Kitty
Evanston stood by the open window of Dr. Haley McAlisters office, gulping
air. Beads of sweat dripped down her face. I cant go through with
this, she said.
Traumatized by nightmare memories of a prior operation at the hospital, Kitty Evanston abruptly canceled both Haleys pre-surgery psychological testing and the scheduled operation--but not before revealing the terrifying conversation shed heard while she was under anesthetic the last time. Now shes dead. And the hospital would like to see her dark story buried with her. Memory testing is one of Haleys specialties, and shes not about to dismiss Evanstons recollections as psychotic. Not when the hospital is deeply involved in financial problems, FDA investigations, and cover-ups, and key hospital personnel are unwilling to cooperate with her investigation into Kittys claims.
Haleys expertise in lie detection tells her she cant trust all of her colleagues--not even the man she has begun a relationship with. And trust is one thing her life may depend on, especially when it comes to love. . .or murder.
