Brenda English

Biography

Brenda English is originally from Metter, Ga., some 60 miles southwest of Savannah, and grew up on a farm. She majored in journalism (radio-TV-film production) at the University of Georgia, where she also spent a year in graduate school. Her first journalism job was as the film editor and a reporter at a television station in Tallahassee. After a year in TV news, she moved to the Tallahassee "Democrat" and found her niche in newspaper reporting. She also met her husband, Carey, there.

She then spent five years in Michigan, where she worked for the now-defunct Ypsilanti "Press" . From there she moved to the Washington area, and went to work for Fairfax Hospital and became the publications manager there.
